The property is located in Southwest France's Aquitaine region. The house was built in the 13th century. Some believe it was a garrison of the Templars.
Locals in Salles call it "Le Petit Château" or "The Small Castle". Salles is a small village of about 300 people. There is a church, a 1 class school building, a "mairie," or town hall, many farms and country residences.
Salles is located in the North-East part of the department of Lot et Garonne, very close to the Dordogne to the North and the Lot to the East.
The region is beautiful, with rolling wooded hills, fields blooming with bright sunflowers, castles and foritified villages on hilltops. |
